Do you ever wonder about "time"? When did it start? When will it end? Every day we wake up at a certain time, we eat at a certain time and go back to sleep at a certain time. We all were born at a certain time and will die at a certain time. Between the time we wake up and go back to bed, do you think you are doing what you should be doing? Ever had a perfect day in the time given to us? Well, lets see! But we have to test that day by the standards of the One who gives time....God, the Creator. Did you ever have a day where God was always first? Everything you did was for Him. How about lusting? Did you ever have a day that you didn't have a sexual desire for someone who is not your husband or wife? How about coveting? Did you ever have a day you didn't desire something that doesn't belong to you? Well if your like the rest of us meeting those standard in one day is humanly impossible. Unfortunately that was only 3 out of 10 commandments, and God will judge us from the time we are born till the time we die, not just one day. If we break those laws He sees us as, denying Him, adulterers at heart and coveters. Lying, stealing and getting really mad at others (which God sees as murder of the heart) is also breaking His law. Now every time we break His law we store up wrath for ourselves on that day of judgment. You see there is a day that God will judge the world in righteousness and all law breakers will be punished for ever in Hell. Though this is real heavy, there is Good News! God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, Jesus, that who ever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. What that means is we broke His law, we deserve punishment in Hell, God sent Jesus, who was born of a virgin and is God in the flesh, to take the punishment that we deserve by dying a painful death on the cross and on the 3rd day He rose from the dead. Because Jesus paid the penalty for us God can see us as FORGIVEN of all sin. But what must we do to get this forgiveness? You need to REPENT! That means to confess all your sins to God and forsake them. Then you need to TRUST in Jesus. Trust that everything He did on the cross was enough to satisfy the wrath of God. Then trust Him enough to follow Him. When you do this God will make you born again. He'll give you a new heart with new desires. You'll be forgiven of all sins and will have the promise of heaven. This all needs to happen in the time we are given on earth. Don't waste this time because tomorrow is not promised. So get on your knees and pour out your heart to God....you won't regret it!
What's going on with Christian artists! I mean, they say God is number one in their lives, but I see, so often, Christians using their gifts to glorify the things of this world. Rather than singing or writing about praises to Jesus or telling the world how great He is, I hear songs of love to a girl, or cruising with friends, or some other stuff that is not that important to a person saved by grace. (I'm not even going to talk about the ones that sing about false gods, sex outside of marriage, drunkeness, drugs or any other sin, and lift it up so that everyone who listens would think it's cool. All I have to say about that is EXAMINE YOURSELF TO SEE IF YOUR IN THE FAITH! I'll talk more about that later).
I think I make the worst counselor but the most biblical one. I believe, you get saved, read the bible and do what it says. Simple, but complex. I see that people, including myself, get into trouble when any of these steps is pushed aside. Let me try to help.
I was talking to a girl at church, and she was telling me her struggles. It seemed so easy to help her in my mind, but to her it wasn't that simple. The thought of giving up a (sinful) relationship with this guy was like ripping out her heart. She knew what the bible says, but it was to hard to do.
We was sitting around and talking about fears. A lot of things came up, but one thing stuck in my mind. Storms! You can't do anything about it but with enough warning you can prepare (mostly pray, because living on an island you can't evacuate too far). I hope the news hits us soon enough to do something. We hear of stories of other countries getting wiped out because they had no warning.
As I go out in the streets to tell people about Jesus and how he saves us from the day of judgment, at first some people think "Here we go. Another born again fanatic who thinks the only way to heaven is to be a Christian. They trust in a book written by man!" I thought to myself "yea, yea and kind of yea (pened by man)!" But it doesn't seem reasonable to them. They might have some missing information." So lets try reasoning to fill in the gaps.
